August 15, 2009 - Photo Session with Vinod
Vinod called the Studio and asked me if I was able to take some time to photograph him for a very special assignment. You see, Vinod is from India and his mom and dad are living there, while he is living here in the U.S. The plan is to find a wonderful girl from India that would be interested in marriage, so Vinods parents asked, "why don't you send us some new pictures?"

Dog Gone Good Photo Shoot!
August 2, 2009 - Photograph Pet Session for the Gosselin Family
By request, I came in on a Sunday afternoon to do a photo session of two members of the Gosselin family. They were very well behaved and didn't mind having their photo taken. Yes, I did a pet session that worked out pretty dog gone good!
On the left side is Kookie, and on the right is Lizette.
The Gosselin family were very pleased with the images and the afternoon went over without any doggy accidents! It was fun!

Giving Thanks and Gratitude
July 28, 2009 - Time for Mom and Dad
I was talking with a new friend recently and she asked if I still had my parents around? I said yes. She commented "how lucky you are to still have them in your life". It made me stop and think, I am so lucky to still have them with me. My mom is 85 and my dad is 83. I think giving thanks and gratitude to God here and now would be very appropriate for me. Thank you God for two wonderful parents! This was one of the Father's Day pictures taken in June. Truly, you can see, I have been blessed.

Father's Day with Dad
June 21, 2009 - Father's Day with my Dad
It was nice to spend time with my dad on Father's Day. I brought my camera with me and took pictures of us together and also with the rest of my family too. My dad is in a nursing home due to diabetic complications, but he is learning to adjust after being there for some time now. This picture was taken by my sister for me. I'm glad to still have my father around with us.

It's Official! My New Studio Sign!
June 11, 2009 - New studio sign went up today!
Well, It's official! We finally got our logo! Special thanks to Judy Tourangeau, u.k.a. JT Art & Design in Naugatuck, CT (203-577-7233) for designing my identity branding for me. She was great to work with and very reasonable. We went over a few ideas together and I decided on this one for VIP Studios. After we finished the logo it was time to make the new business cards, stationary, and of course, the storefront sign. I love the new look! The sign went up today with the expertise work of Tony Perugini from J & J Signs and Graphics here in Waterbury (203-768-4926).

Lauren's Birthday Surprise!
May 13, 2009 - Photo session with Lauren for her boyfriend's birthday gift present.
Lauren had called the studio to set up a photo shoot of herself for her boyfriend. This was to be a surprise birthday gift for him. Lauren arrived at V.I.P. Studios with a good friend of hers and we talked for a few minutes to go over her theme, her expectations, and when she was ready, we went into the portrait room and began photographing.
The photo shoot was about an hour and a half. We had about 200 images and got it down to about 100 for Lauren to look at after editing and processing took place.
Everything went very well! Lauren picked out some of her favorites and made great birthday gift prints for her boyfriend just in time for his big day coming up. Lauren was a pleasure to photograph. As you can see, her poses were very tasteful and very admiring to say the least!

Carolyn's Family Photo Session
April 18, 2009 - Family Photo Session at Eastwoods Country Club in Torrington, CT
VIP Studios had the pleasure of meeting Carolyn for the first time on April 18, 2009 in Torrington, CT at Eastwoods Country Club for her 70th Birthday Celebration! Carolyn had called the studio some time back in January and requested to have photography services scheduled for her and her extended family that would be arriving to officiate the festivities of the day. We had a great time getting the photos she wanted to capture of all the families. After all the small family groups were taken care of inside the club, we went outside and did the whole family group!
We finished with pictures in good time so I was able to take a lot of candid's during cocktails. It was a very beautiful day all around and I must say, I enjoyed being around Carolyn and her family! Happy Birthday Carolyn!

Two Important Seminars in one week!
Meeting Denis Reggie and Sandy Puc' in one week!
On Wednesday, April 15th I took a drive out to Middletown Connecticut to hear Denis Reggie speak to about 130 people for about two hours or so. The seminar was free and well worth my time and effort to be there and be a part of the evening for sure. Denis talked about his style, emotion, and most important how to transpire images to convey "the real story" with techniques and equipment settings he uses often. Special thanks from VIP Studios to Justin and Mary for the Envite and all that they do for us photographers!
On Friday, April 17th I had another seminar to attend up in Avon Connecticut featuring Sandy Puc' on her seminar "Tots 2 Teens". Jam packed evening of information. What a gal! I was writing down so much of what she said and her tips were well worth the time we spent together. It was a very long, but very informative night. Again, I learned more than I had expected when I went there, so yes, I was very pleased to have been there. You should check out her tours when you have a chance to browse the web at http://www.tots-teens.com. Sandy is a strong believer in charities and supports a few through her web site and on tour. Take time to get to know Sandy Puc', you'll fall in love with her, with her work, and with her charities.

The 30 Second Elevator Pitch with Betsy Thomas
Wednesday April 1, 2009 - Meeting Betsy Thomas for the first time.
On April 1, 2009, I was in Danbury shooting a video for a legal firm. After my shoot, I packed up and proceeded to jump on the elevator to go back down to the main floor. As the elevator doors opened, Betsy Thomas, a lifestyle coach entrepreneur located on Main Street, in Danbury was standing there inside the elevator and very inquisitively said, "wow, that certainly is a lot of stuff to carry around!", which prompted our 30 second elevator pitch. As we traveled down to the ground floor together, I had told her a little about myself, VIP Studios, and the business opportunities that I am associated with, one being a video company for legal and corporate, and the other being a professional photographer. I asked Betsy what she did for work? Betsy told me she was a lifestyle coach for women, had her own company and was gracious enough to exchange business cards with me. I must admit, it was a pleasure talking with her. A very optimistic personality, and a very successful woman were two traits that came across immediately. I was honored to talk with her and was very impressed with her web site: www.betsythomas.com. It was an added surprise to know she is an avid believer in the Law of Attraction, which is also on my plate of life as well.
Hope you visit her web site, and tell Betsy I said hello!

Photo Restorations!!!
February 26, 2009 - Restore photo for my mom's birthday
Wow, what a big difference!! I had this photo given to me from my mom and she asked if there was any way I could restore it? It was her, when she was a little girl on her dad's pony. I said yes, and since her birthday was coming up I took the photo and was able to get it restored for her just in time as a gift.

Is this cool or what?
Her birthday was February 26th. My mom just turned 85 years young!
Yes, I can have photos restored to almost perfection!

CPPA 2009 Four Day Convention
February 6, 2009 to February 9, 2009 - Cromwell Plaza in Cromwell, CT
The CT Professional Photographers Convention hosted by CPPA and their sponsors took place from February 6th to the 9th at the Cromwell Plaza in Cromwell!
The Convention was great. I was able to pick up a few tips.
I went to all the Seminars. Each day was something to soak in and learn.
On Sunday we had an all afternoon Trade Show with vendors. I even picked up a few things for VIP Studios!
Presidential Photographer speaks at CPPA Convention!
Monday was most likely the day that I was impressed with the most after meeting and listening
to
David Hume Kennerly.
David was sponsored by Canon and presented his journey of life through his photographic captures of years gone by including the days of the Vietnam war and so much more.
His stories behind the scenes were truly worth their weight in gold and some of the photos we viewed were a once in a lifetime opportunity to see!
David bestowed his photographic history of past presidents he has had the pleasure of being with and photographing. Awesome photos. You had to be there to appreciate them!
I was not going to pass up the chance to grab a photo opportunity with David before he left!
Special Thanks to photographer Mike Spiegel for taking this photographic moment on my behalf.
See you guys at the next Convention in 2010!
